Steve Kornicki has been composing concert music since
1987, and his compositions for orchestra and chamber
ensembles have been performed and recorded throughout the U.S. and in
Europe. Steve studied composition & music theory with Jeffrey
Mumford and guitar performance with William Peters at the Settlement Music
School in Philadelphia, PA.

He works closely with Dave
Gerhart, California State University Long Beach Professor and Percussionist,
and musicians at CSU Long Beach. A series of percussion pieces composed
by Steve, some of which involve the integration
of electronics with live musicians, have been premiered and performed
there since 2000.

In 2005 and 2006 Steve composed several pieces for the New York Miniaturist Ensemble which
were premiered and perfomed by the ensemble in various venues throughout
New York City. In February 2006 the New York Miniaturist Ensemble performed
Horizontal Color Forms #12 "72 Tones" at a historic concert
that took place at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New York City, along
with the premiere of Karlheinz Stockhausen's "First Natural Durations".
